Which Would You Choose?

1/14/2024

You can only choose one:
  • Great sleep
  • Lose/maintain weight
  • No joint pain
  •  Feel less anxious
  • Clear radiant skin
  • More energy & focus

So, which would you choose?

When it comes to our health, we often believe that we can’t have it all. Many times, we choose to focus on improving only one metric, whether it’s:
  • Eating a healthy diet
  • Engaging in regular exercise
  • Or trying to sleep better at night

We trust that certain health issues we have just aren’t fixable, they're here to stay.
So, we give up on them and focus on the other parts of ourselves that we believe can be improved instead.

But what if I told you that you don’t have to choose?

What if I told you that you can have it all and that your health issues don’t have to stay?
The truth is your body is connected. Many of the symptoms you may be experiencing are likely connected through one root cause.

Finding and treating that cause is your key to freedom.

You don’t have to choose between having more energy, clearer skin or feeling less anxious, you can have it all.

STRESS!!! and your Body

1/11/2024

Are you aware of these six forms of stress present in your life?

1️. Negative thoughts
Many people are unaware that their thoughts can contribute greatly to stress. In fact, negative thoughts have been linked to:
  • Anxiety
  • High blood pressure
  • And heart disease.

2️. Microstressors
Did you know that stress can be cumulative? This means that the little stresses in your everyday life add up. Examples of microstressors include:
  • Getting cut off in traffic
  • Monotonous work
  • And losing your car keys.

3️. Unhealthy habits
Your lifestyle plays key roles in the development of chronic stress. It’s important to slow down and set aside some time for yourself every day. Unhealthy habits that contribute to stress include:
  • Poor nutrition
  • Excessive alcohol
  • And lack of sleep

4️. Physical stress
This can be anything from sitting with poor posture, to conditions such as arthritis, both of which put a strain on the body that can be just as damaging as an injury. Other forms of physical stress are:
  • Long term diseases
  • Colds
  • And flus

5️. Environmental stress
Your environment can affect your mental and physical health. Loud noises, for example, can cause anxiety, while dark and cold settings can make you feel unmotivated. Environmental stress can also come in the form of:
  • Air and water impurities
  • Radiation
  • And toxins from pesticides or plastics

6️. Major life changes
Change is an inevitable part of life. However, certain changes can work in your favor whilst others can work against you if you let them. Stress can take its toll on the body from something as simple as moving house, to something bigger such as:
  • The death of a loved one
  • Divorce
  • Or having a child

Sometimes you have little control over what stresses life throws at you. However, you CAN learn to handle unavoidable stress in healthier ways, such as mindfulness and meditation.

Want a little hand holding? Join me in my brand-new digital course, FOUNDATIONS.

The Surprising Effects Stress Can Have On Your Body

1/5/2024

Chronic stress can affect our entire body, from the cardiovascular system to the digestive.

It's not just in our minds; it's a whole-body experience.
I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact that stress can have on our physical and mental well-being.

Just some of the ways stress can manifest in the body include:
 Insomnia
 Chest pain
 Head / muscle aches
 Oxidative damage
Increased cortisol levels (your stress hormone)

Let's dive deep into learning effective ways to manage stress:

MINDFUL BREATHING: Practicing deep, mindful breaths can help calm your nervous system and lower stress hormones. Increased cortisol levels can cause hypertension and impaired immune function.

NOURISH THE BODY: A balanced diet with plenty of fruits and veggies can fortify your body against stress. Antioxidants in your diet help combat oxidative stress and reduce inflammation.

REGULAR EXERCISE: Get those endorphins flowing! Physical activity is a fantastic way to manage stress and boost your mood. It works by increasing the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, which regulates mood.

PRIORITIZE SLEEP: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep every night to recharge your body and mind. Stress can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to a vicious cycle of sleep-related stress.

CONNECT & SHARE: Don't be afraid to talk about your stress with friends, family, or a therapist. Sharing your feelings can be incredibly therapeutic. Stress affects social connections, potentially causing isolation and exacerbating emotional distress.

SELF-CARE RITUALS: Treat yourself to self-care activities like massage therapy, meditation, yoga, or a relaxing bath. These practices can help reduce the activation of the amygdala, the brain's fear center, which is overstimulated during stress.

Remember, stress isn't always a bad thing. It's a natural response that's helped humans survive for centuries. However, chronic stress is where the trouble starts.
If stress is overwhelming you, send me a DM to start your journey back to health.
